At night, the entire Nanjing East Road is brightly lit and colorful. Nanjing Road lives up to its reputation as the "No. 1 Commercial Street in China" with its gorgeous buildings, numerous stores, bustling streets and brilliant night views. In 1999, this "No. 1 Commercial Street in China" was transformed into China's first all-weather pedestrian street.
The first phase of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, with a total length of 1,033 meters, runs from Henan Middle Road to Xizang Middle Road. It adopts an asymmetrical design. On the north side of the straight Nanjing Road, there is a "golden belt" that runs through the entire street. It is home to various flower beds, bus shelters, etc. Under the setting sun, the "golden belt" is like a colorful dynamic movie. At the same time, the commercial structure of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street has also changed, and the phenomenon of "thousands of stores with the same face" has become history.
Yibai, Hualian, and New World on the pedestrian street continue to retain their characteristics as comprehensive department stores, while the rest of the commercial buildings are developing into professional commercial buildings with "one store, one product". At the same time, the pedestrian street has greatly increased the elements of catering, leisure, and entertainment, making Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street develop into a pattern of "elegant in the east section, professional in the middle section, and prosperous in the west section".

Take Bus No. 20, 37, 330, or 921 to Jiujiang Road Huanghe Road Station, walk more than 100 meters east to the sunken square, and go through the tunnel to the western starting point of the pedestrian street
Take Metropolitan Sightseeing Tour Line 1 to New World City (west side of the pedestrian street), or get off at Henan Middle Road (east side of the pedestrian street). You can take subway lines 1, 2, and 8 to "People's Square" station, exit from Exit 6, and go through the sunken square tunnel to the western starting point of the pedestrian street
You can take subway lines 2 and 10 to "Nanjing East Road" station, and exit from Exit 1, 2, and 4 to reach the eastern starting point of the pedestrian street.
